I'm Adam Reed. I prepare planning and Building Regulations drawing packages for architectural practices and homeowners, backed by 20 years' experience in architecture.

Most of my work is drafting support for architectural practices. I also take on a small number of projects directly for homeowners.
Architectural practices
Send me the survey and your design intent, and I'll turn it into a full drawing package to your standards. I work remotely and can run two or three jobs at a time.
Homeowners
If you're planning an extension or alterations, I can prepare the drawings you need for planning permission and Building Regulations approval.
Local knowledge
Before going freelance, I spent six years as a technical coordinator for housing developers across both counties. I managed jobs with the developers as well as producing drawings, which gave me a thorough, practical understanding of how schemes are approved and built locally. I bring that experience to every project I work on.
Familiar with local plan policies and design guidance across Shropshire and Staffordshire, so drawings address what planning officers look for.
Working knowledge of the Approved Documents, from structure and fire safety to thermal performance and ventilation.

Larger-scale details at key junctions, ready for the builder to price and build from.
How I work
A simple, consistent process, so you always know where the drawings are.
We agree what's needed, from the survey and design information to deadlines and output format.
You receive a written quote with a fixed fee and a set number of revisions.
I prepare the package and send it to you for comment, then make the agreed revisions.
Final drawings are issued as PDF, with DWG files where agreed, ready to submit.
About
I've worked in architecture for 20 years, including six years as a technical coordinator for housing developers across Shropshire and Staffordshire, where I managed jobs as well as drawing them. In 2026 I set up Tern Valley Drawing Services to work freelance from my base in Market Drayton.
Practices bring me in when they have more work than drawing time. I also offer the same careful service directly to homeowners, with clear communication and drawings prepared to the standard planning and Building Control expect.
